Chicago Shooting Report: April 5 to April 12

The Chicago Shooting Report is a weekly list of shootings around the Chicago area compiled by The PHOENIX.

There are two important things to keep in mind. First, this list is not necessarily complete; some shootings may not have been reported or picked up by the media. Second, there will occasionally be overlap between weekly reports due to delays in reporting shootings.

There are three colored balloons on the map below. Red balloons indicate fatal shootings while yellow balloons indicate non-fatal shootings. To provide context for locations, the blue balloons represent Loyola’s two campuses, Lake Shore and Water Tower.

Three figures of interest.

  1. There were 47 shootings this week. The previous high was 31.

  2. There were eight fatal shootings. The previous high was five

  3. There were five shootings in Rogers Park. The previous high was two.
