Strong third place finish for women’s golf

The women’s golf team had a very impressive weekend, placing third out of 16 teams at the Dayton Fall Invitational. Only 14 strokes away from placing first, the Ramblers showed that they have five solid players who can put up competitive numbers every tournament.

Logan Willis led the team, posting a two-day total of 151, good enough to land her a solo sixth place finish. Willis, a sophomore from Kohler, Wisconsin, has consistently been able to put herself into contention in every tournament she has played. With two sub-80 rounds at Dayton, she finally put it all together.

Senior captain Alex Meyers also put up solid numbers, carding a 156 that included a final-round 75. Loyola’s only juniors, Olivia Lindsley and Bernice Sitompul, finished with identical totals of 158, which placed them in a tie for 24th. Freshman Summer Moser rounded out the Maroon & Gold by finishing a tie for 30th.

The Ramblers will now look to build on their solid performances when they travel to Boonville, Indiana, for the Braun Intercollegiate on Oct. 27.
