A Loyola student was the victim of a strong-armed robbery Monday night, according to a crime alert email from Chief of Police and Director of Campus Safety Thomas Murray.
The student, who reported the incident to Campus Safety Tuesday afternoon, was walking in the 1300 block of West Hood Street at about 10 p.m. when the incident occurred. Two males and one female approached the student and demanded the student’s backpack, according to Murray’s email.
The offenders took the backpack and fled the scene, according to the alert, which said Campus Safety is working with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) to investigate.
CPD News Affairs spokesperson Michelle Tannehill said CPD has no record of the incident.
The email did not provide a description of the offenders.
The investigation is ongoing, and Campus Safety asks anyone with information to call their office at 773-508-6039 or the Chicago Police Department at 312-744-8263.
