Two Loyola students were shot by paintball guns around 1:45 a.m. this morning, according to Loyola Campus Safety.

A crime alert email was sent out to all Loyola students and staff this morning by Campus Safety Director Thomas Murray.

The students were walking near the intersection of West Granville Avenue and North Kenmore Avenue early Friday morning when they were approached by a silver or gray Lexus sedan, Murray wrote.

Three passengers in the vehicle shot paintballs at the students and then fled southbound on North Sheridan Road, according to Murray.

Murray said Campus Safety and CPD are working together to investigate the incident.
