The department of Off-Campus Student Life (OCSL) announced that the Commuter Student Life (CSL) department will now function under the direction of the Department of Student Activities and Greek Affairs (SAGA), according to a statement issued by Dean of Students William Rodriguez Tuesday.

Formerly, OCSL served commuter students and “resimuter” students, who live on their own within the Loyola district.

MacKenzie Rotherham, former OCSL graduate intern, will serve as the new Commuter Student Life Coordinator and Clair McDonald, an assistant director of Residence Life, will be responsible for off-campus housing resources, according to the email. Previously, commuter and resimuter resources were handled by one individual.

“The changes outlined above increase access to resources and provide for a dedicated full-time professional for both commuter and resimuter students,” the statement said.

“I am eager to take on the new challenge of supporting our Resimuter students,” McDonald said in an email to The PHOENIX. “I look forward to assisting students as they make plans to move to off-campus housing.”

“The changes increase access to resources and provide for a dedicated full-time professional for both commuter and resimuter students,” Rodriguez said in an email to The PHOENIX.

Rotherham couldn’t be reached for a statement at the time of publication.
