Shots were fired near Loyola’s Water Tower Campus at the Water Tower Place shopping mall Friday evening, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).
The incident at the mall, located at 835 N. Michigan Ave., began with a dispute between two groups of people and ended with an unknown offender shooting a gun, police said.
No injuries were reported, but the gunman has not yet been found. No one involved in the shooting was associated with Loyola, according to an email sent to the Loyola community by Ed Mirabelli, the deputy chief of Loyola Campus Safety.
The CPD is further investigating the incident, and Water Tower Place is now secured and clear.
