Police responded to reports of multiple shots fired on the 1500 block of West Morse Avenue — one mile away from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus — around 10 p.m. Thursday night, according to Chicago Police Department (CPD) News Affairs Officer Michelle Tannehill.

Tannehill said CPD officers tried to investigate a black sedan parked at an angle near the intersection of North Greenview Avenue and West Morse Avenue. The vehicle reportedly drove into an alley and struck three vehicles. The driver, Demarco Jaquille Conley, exited the vehicle and police recovered a weapon according to Tannehill.

Tannehill said CPD took Conley, 24, into custody and he is being held with two felony charges for aggravated fleeing and being an armed habitual criminal. It’s not confirmed if Conley fired the shots CPD initially responded to.
