Aggravated Robbery Near Water Tower Campus

A person was robbed Wednesday, July 5 near North Wabash Avenue and East Pearson Street, intersecting through Loyola’s Water Tower Campus, police said.

The victim, who is unaffiliated with Loyola, was described as a 32-year-old male, according to the Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) report. The report said the perpetrators entered the victim’s car and hit his head with an unknown object before robbing him. The man suffered lacerations and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The suspects escaped the scene, heading southbound on North Wabash Avenue by foot, according to an email sent to Loyola students by Campus Safety. Physical descriptions of the offenders were unavailable at the time the email was sent.

Campus Safety is working with the CPD to investigate the incident and encourages anyone with information to call Campus Safety at 773-508-6039 or the CPD through 9-1-1 or 312-744-8263.
