The Loyola men’s basketball non-conference schedule will be on of the most challenging the team has seen in decades. It was released the afternoon of Aug. 27.
“Scheduling is difficult every season, and this year was no exception, but we wanted to assemble as difficult a non-conference schedule as possible and I think we accomplished that goal,” head coach Porter Moser said in a press release.
The schedule features 10 teams that recorded 17 or more wins in the previous season. Four of the teams they will be facing this season reached the postseason during the 2017-18 season. The Ramblers take on University of Nevada Nov. 27. in the Missouri Valley Conference and Mountain West Conference challenge game.
During the NCAA South Regional semi-final round in Atlanta, Loyola faced off against Nevada. In the last seven seconds of the game Marques Townes three-point-shot took the lead away from the Wolf Pack, which allowed the Ramblers to advance to the Elite Eight.
Other teams the Ramblers will be playing against as a part of their non-conference schedule include Mid-American Conference rival, Ball State, and potential games against Boston College or the University of Wyoming in the Fort Myers Tip Off tournament Nov. 19 and Nov. 21.
