Storm Cancels Men’s Soccer Game

Abby Schnable | The PhoenixRain and lightning caused officials to cancel the Loyola mens soccer game Friday night.

In the 20th minute of the Loyola men’s soccer game against Loyola Marymount University, the referees stopped the game due to lightning in the area. The game won’t be rescheduled, according to Loyola Athletics.

Fans were pulled from the stands and told to take shelter. 15 minutes after play was halted, a heavy rain started. Officials postponed the game at 9 p.m.

Before the game was stopped, the score was tied 0-0.
