Electronic dance music (EDM) fans will get a treat this Halloween with the Jawbreaker Festival taking over the Wisconsin Center (400 W. Wisconsin Ave.) a massive convention and exhibition hall in the heart of downtown Milwaukee Oct. 27-28.

For Loyola students who enjoy music festivals, Jawbreaker is a great option for a weekend trip.

The two-day festival makes its debut featuring world-class acts including ZEDD, Odesza and GRiZ.

Audience members can immerse themselves in a Halloween performance like no other Oct. 27 to ZEDD, Chicago’s own Louis the Child, Parker, RCKT PWR and Crystal Knives. GRiZ was added to the Saturday lineup Sept. 15.

The lineup Oct. 28 will feature live electronic duo Odesza, RL Grimes, Lumberjack, Plaid Hawaii and Moses.

Although costumes are encouraged, dress code remains strict. Security measures have strengthened since the mass shooting at Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas.

Jawbreaker Festival’s official costume guidelines state festival-goers must be recognizable with government-issued identification, meaning no masks or full-face makeup. Any costumes with resemblance to military or security personnel are forbidden.

Early bird tickets sold out, but one-day and weekend Tier 1 tickets are still available. VIP tickets — which grant access to express entry, elevated viewing areas, a private bar and private bathrooms — are limited. Ticket sales and more about the festival can be found at www.jawbreakerfest.com.
