Campus Safety officers arrested a man who isn’t affiliated with Loyola for criminal trespass Wednesday afternoon on the Lake Shore Campus, Campus Safety said.
Three Campus Safety officers handcuffed the man and escorted him out of the Quinlan Life Sciences Center around 4:20 p.m., an eyewitness said.
The person was “calm” during the situation and didn’t seem to resist arrest, according to eyewitness sophomore Hadley Holmes.
This is the second time in the past two weeks a person who isn’t affiliated with Loyola has been taken into custody by Campus Safety. On Sept. 19 Campus Safety officers “wrestled” a man while he resisted after trespassing the Halas Recreation Center. The man was arrested for one misdemeanor count of trespassing after entering the location without permission, The Phoenix previously reported.
This is a developing story and more details will be provided as they come available.
