CPD to Hold News Conference about Rogers Park Shooter

Chicago Police DepartmentTwo recent shootings in Rogers Park have been connected to the same person, who police said is still at large.

More than a month after a spree of shootings left two men dead in Rogers Park, the Chicago Police Department will provide updates on the case at a 3:30 p.m. news conference Thursday, police said.

The conference is planned to take place at the Loyola Fieldhouse at 1230 W. Greenleaf Avenue, a little more than a mile from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus.

Douglass Watts, 73, was shot and killed while walking his dogs the morning of Sept. 30 on the 1400 block of West Sherwin Avenue. A day later, 24-year-old Eliyahu Moscowitz was shot in the head and killed in Loyola Park around 10 p.m. The two men were killed by the same person, who police said is still at large.
