Two teenagers were shot Monday night while walking down the sidewalk on the 2000 block of West Estes Avenue in Rogers Park, approximately 1.5 miles from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus, police said.

A person in a dark-colored SUV fired shots at a 14-year-old black male who sustained a wound to his right knee and a 17-year-old black male who was wounded in both legs, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) said.

The victims were taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, police said. Both are in stable condition, according to CPD.

No one has been taken into police custody, CPD said. Area North detectives are still investigating the incident.

The incident follows five shootings in Rogers Park this semester, which have left three people dead, The Phoenix reported. Two of the people killed were shot by the same person — who is still at large — causing the neighborhood to be on high alert, the Phoenix reported.

Anyone with information about the latest incident can call CPD at (312) 744-8263 or 911.
