A man was detained and taken into custody Tuesday night after Loyola’s private police force, Campus Safety, received a call about a suspicious person in the Information Commons (IC), officials said.
Loyola senior Samantha Sheynberg said she witnessed the man walking around the IC staring at students. She said she alerted staff when he spilled a bag of candy he’d been carrying while still staring at students.
“He just came in, had his hands in his pockets and was walking around looking at people … then [Campus Safety] came and took him outside and he resisted a little bit,” Sheynberg said.
Campus Safety said they received the call from staff at the IC, who declined to comment on the situation.
