One Man Killed, Another Seriously Injured in West Rogers Park Shooting

Courtesy of Tony WebsterTwo people hopped out of a car and tried to steal a student's cell phone Friday night, according to Campus Safety.

Two men, ages 26 and 27, were sitting in a parked car about three miles from Loyola’s campus in the 6500 block of North Albany around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when an unknown offender started shooting into the vehicle, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

The 27-year-old was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene while the 26-year-old was shot in the face and is in serious condition at Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, according to CPD.

Witnesses heard multiple gunshots and saw a black Toyota Rav-4 speeding away from the scene, according to CPD.

Nobody is in custody and Area North detectives are still investigating.
