Man Shot in Loyola Park

A man was shot in Loyola Park Thursday afternoon, police said.

The 25-year-old male was in the park in the 1200 block of West Greenleaf Avenue at approximately 4:54 p.m. when he heard gunshots, according to Chicago Police Department (CPD) News Affairs officer Steve Rusanov. A vehicle approached him and a person inside the vehicle fired shots in his direction, which wounded his upper left shoulder, Rusanov said.

He was transported to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in stable condition, according to Rusanov.

Police didn’t have information on the offender at the time of publication, Rusanov said.
