Pedestrian Hit By A Car in Rogers Park

A woman was injured after being hit by a car in Rogers Park Tuesday night, officials said.

The 72-year-old was crossing from the west to the east side of North Ridge Boulevard at the 7100 block when she was struck by a car at approximately 10 p.m., according to Chicago Police Department (CPD) News Affairs officer Steve Rusanov.

Rusanov said the victim was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition after sustaining a laceration to her forehead.

Witnesses said a red vehicle with no headlights fled south of the scene on North Ridge Boulevard, but there are no suspects yet, according to Rusanov.
