A man was attacked outside the Howard Red Line stop early Tuesday morning and was found shortly after at the Morse stop, police said.
The 54-year-old was stabbed in the chest by an unknown person around 1:25 a.m. at the 7600 block of North Paulina before boarding the Red Line train going south, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Anthony Spicuzza said.
The victim was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in critical condition after being found on the Red Line train at Morse, according to Spicuzza.
Red Line trains heading south were running but not stopping at Jarvis, Morse or Loyola for about two hours following the attack, according to tweets from the Chicago Transit Authority.
Spicuzza said nobody is in custody, and Area North detectives are still investigating.
