Former Ramblers men’s basketball player Marques Townes will compete in the NBA Summer League for the Chicago Bulls, his agent Keith Kreiter announced Tuesday afternoon.
“We’re thrilled for Marques,” Kreiter said in a statement to The Phoenix. “This opportunity is so well deserved and I have no doubt he’ll make a name for himself in Vegas.”
This is the second year in a row the Bulls have signed a former Rambler to their summer league squad. Last summer, Donte Ingram suited up for the Bulls, averaging 6.0 points per game over five games.
Townes, 23, is joining the Bulls after a five-year college career that saw him split time between Fairleigh Dickinson University and Loyola. He was a key piece of the Ramblers’ 2018 Final Four run and won the MVC Player of the year in 2019.
Townes and the Bulls will kick off their summer league schedule July 5 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN with tip-off set for 6:30 p.m.
Townes did not immediately respond for comment.
