Person Found Dead In Lake Michigan Near Rogers Park

A Chicago man was found dead in Lake Michigan in Rogers Park Sunday morning, police said.

The man was found unresponsive at approximately 9:45 a.m. in the 7000 block of North Sheridan Road — less than half a mile from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus — according to Chicago Police Department (CPD) News Affairs Officer Steve Rusanov.

The body was removed by the Chicago Fire Department, CPD Marine Unit and officers of the 24th District — which includes Rogers Park — according to police.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 64-year-old Donald Lee of the 1400 block of West Monroe Street.

The cause and manner of death is pending with the medical examiner.
