A woman died and a man was injured in a shooting in West Rogers Park Saturday, police said.

The shooting happened at an apartment in the 6200 block of North Ridge Avenue — about a mile from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus — at about 3:30 p.m., according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Anthony Spicuzza.

One victim — a 49-year-old woman — was struck twice in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene, according to Spicuzza. The other victim — a 28-year-old man — was shot once in the elbow and was transported to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston where he’s in stable condition, Spicuzza said.

A person of interest has been identified by police and is wanted for questioning, Anthony Guglielmi, a Chicago Police Department spokesman, said in a tweet Saturday night.

No one is in custody yet, and Area North detectives are investigating, Spicuzza said.
