Convenience Store Inside Loyola Red Line Station Robbed

Alanna Demetrius | The PhoenixSomebody reported a robbery at a convenience store in the Loyola Red Line Station, across the street from Loyola's Lake Shore Campus.

A man reportedly robbed the convenience store inside the Loyola Red Line Station last week, just steps away from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus, police said. 

Somebody called the police about 9:40 a.m. Oct. 28 to report a young man who entered the store (1200 W. Loyola Ave.) and took an unknown amount of money from the cash register and some items displayed for sale behind the counter, according to Chicago Police Department (CPD) News Affairs Officer Jessica Alvarez.

There was no report of a handgun or any other weapon used, Alvarez said. 

Police said there are no suspects in custody, and Area North detectives are investigating.  If anyone has information on the incident, call Campus Safety at 773-508-6039 or CPD at 312-744-8263.
