Alanna Demetrius | The PhoenixThe woman was inside a restaurant on North Sheridan Road ordering food when a man walked in and inappropriately touched her, police said.

A woman was grabbed inside a restaurant near Lake Shore Campus Oct. 26, police said.

The 19-year-old woman was inside an establishment in the 6400 block of North Sheridan Road — the block which houses Taco Bell, Insomnia Cookies and Potbelly — at about 12:05 a.m. when a 53-year-old man walked in and inappropriately touched her while she was ordering food, according to Chicago Police Department (CPD) News Affairs Officer Jessica Alvarez.

It’s unclear if the woman was a Loyola student and which restaurant it was.

She pushed the man off and left the restaurant, Alvarez said.

Police later arrived in the 6500 block of North Sheridan Road where the man was being held by a witness to the incident, Alvarez said. Authorities couldn’t find the victim at the time.

The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital for an evaluation, according to Alvarez. The woman later called CPD to report the incident and no arrests have been made.

Area North detectives are investigating. If anyone has information on the incident, call Campus Safety at 773-508-6039 or CPD at 312-744-8263.
