Rogers Park resident Michael Jackson, 18, has been charged with the Dec. 3 shooting of Macksantino Webb, police said.
Webb, 20, was allegedly shot by Jackson at 12:30 p.m. on the Red Line platform of the Howard CTA station in the 7500 Block of North Paulina Street — about 1.5 miles from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus, according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Steve Rusanov.
Webb was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
Webb’s death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County Medical Examiner due to multiple gunshot wounds, according to Natalia Derevyanny, Director of Communications for the Cook County Bureau of Administration.
Webb’s death adds to a list of about 40 homicides in the 24th police district since 2016 — where Rogers Park is located — with 22 homicides having no arrests, according to the City of Chicago Crime Data Portal.
