A man fell to his death from the 7th floor of the Water Tower Place shopping complex near Loyola’s Water Tower Campus Wednesday evening, police said.

The 25-year-old fell to the ground floor at about 5:10 p.m. and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital downtown where he was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later, according to Kellie Bartoli, a Chicago Police Department spokesperson.

The death has been ruled a suicide, according to Natalia Derevyanny, a spokesperson from the Cook County Medical Examiner.

In November, a woman also fell 7 floors and died inside Water Tower Place, The Phoenix reported. Last week, a bomb threat was called in at the complex but the mall was later cleared.

Area Central Detectives are still investigating the incident.
