Criminal Sex Assault Reported Blocks Away From Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus

Alanna Demetrius | The PhoenixThe sexual assault was reported at the 6200 block of North Kenmore, down the street from some of Loyola's Lake Shore Campus dorms.

A woman reported a criminal sexual assault just a few blocks south of Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus, officials said.

The 22-year-old told police she met the male offender at her residence — at the 6200 block of North Kenmore, the same block as Loyola dorms — Feb. 14 at about 11 p.m. to go out together, according to Chicago Police Department (CPD) News Affairs Officer Kellie Bartoli. The two of them went upstairs after the man asked to use the bathroom, and she said he pushed her and forced her into sexual acts, Bartoli said.

CPD said the woman told police the alleged offender stayed until about 7:30 a.m. the next morning. She went to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston after reporting to the police Feb. 17, Bartoli said.

CPD said no one is on custody, and Area North detectives are investigating.
