Man Shot At Morse CTA Station, About a Mile From Lake Shore Campus

A man inside a Rogers Park CTA station was shot and died as a result of his injuries the evening of Sept. 15, police confirmed. 

A 26-year-old man was inside the Morse Red Line Station — one stop away from the Loyola Red Line Station — at about 6:12 p.m. on the 1400 block of West Morse Avenue when someone inside an unknown vehicle fired shots at him, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD). 

The victim was struck in the abdomen and taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in critical condition, CPD said. Police said he was later pronounced dead. 

No offenders are in custody and Area Three Detectives are investigating.
