Chicago Shooting Report (March 15-21)

Starting this weekend, The PHOENIX will post a weekly listing of shootings around the Chicago area which will be called the Chicago Shooting Report. It is important to remember that this list is not necessarily complete; some shootings may not have been reported or picked up by the media.
Here is the list for March 15 through March 21:
March 15 – (West Englewood) A 35-year-old man was killed when someone fired into a South Side home.
March 16 – (Lawndale) A 48-year-old man was shot in the thigh on the sidewalk of the 4300 block of West Cermak Road.
March 16 – (South Austin) A 27-year-old man received a superficial gunshot wound to the back.
March 17 – (Thorndale) Shots were fired at about 10:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Thorndale Avenue. Several vehicles were hit with gunfire but there were no reported injuries.
March 17 – (Englewood) Chicago police shot and wounded a man as he stood on a balcony and pointed a gun at a sergeant.
March 18 – (Pilsen) A 16-year-old girl was shot in the chest. She was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
March 18 – (Little Village) A 21-year-old man was shot in the hand and back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.
March 18 – (Riverdale) A 29-year-old man was shot in the leg in an Altgeld Gardens parking lot.
March 19 – (Palatine) A 38-year-old father, Segundo Reynoso, and his 15-year-old son, Luis, were found shot to death in their apartment.
March 19 – (Albany Park) A 20-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the leg.
March 19 – (South Chicago) An 18-year-old man was injured in a possible drive-by shooting in the 8700 block of South Commercial Avenue.
March 19 – (Englewood) A 14-year-old girl was shot. She suffered a through-and-through wound in one thigh, and the bullet ended up in the other. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
March 20 – (Englewood) A 17-year-old boy who allegedly shot at police was hospitalized after being shot in the leg by a police officer after being chased.
March 20 – (Humboldt Park) A 17-year-old boy was walking on the sidewalk when a light-colored minivan drove by and fired shots. He was treated and released from the hospital.
March 20 – (Heart of Chicago) A 20-year-old man was struck multiple times while sitting in the rear seat of a Jeep when someone opened fire from a passing SUV.
March 21 – (Heart of Chicago) A 21-year-old man was shot in the foot on the 2100 block of South Leavitt Street.
March 21 – (Auburn Gresham) A male was shot in the head and arm in on the 7500 block of South May Street. Age and status unknown.
March 21 – (West Englewood) A 25-year-old man was killed after being shot multiple times in the face and body.
March 21 – (Heart of Chicago) Three males were hospitalized after being shot outside a restaurant. Each sustained injuries to their feet and legs.
March 21 – (West Garfield Park) Eugene Matheny, 52, was killed after being shot in the back in an alley near his home.
