Two people attempted to rob a Loyola student on Loyola’s Water Tower Campus Friday night around 8 p.m., according to an email sent to the Loyola community from Campus Safety.

Police said the two people jumped out of a red and black Jeep outside of the Phillip H. Corboy Law Center and tried to take the 23-year-old male student’s cell phone, knocking it out of his hand.

They were unsuccessful and jumped back into the car, heading westbound on Chicago Avenue, the email from Campus Safety said. No one is in custody and no injuries were reported, according to Chicago Police Department (CPD).

The two people who attempted the robbery were both males — one was wearing black shoes, black pants and a black hoodie and the other was wearing blue jeans and a black jacket with white sleeves, the email said.

Campus Safety is working closely with the Chicago Police Department on the investigation. If anyone has information on the incident, please call Campus Safety at 773.508.6039 or the Chicago Police Department via 9-1-1 or 312.744.8263.
