A Loyola student was the victim of a battery in Damen Student Center Tuesday afternoon, according to Loyola Campus Safety.

A 22-year-old female student had her buttocks grabbed by an unknown male at approximately 2:30p.m., according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD) News Affairs. The offender left the building and boarded a CTA bus, Campus Safety said in an email alert sent to students.

The man was described as 5’6” and 180 lbs, wearing black shoes, blue jeans and a black hoodie with white drawstrings.

The investigation is ongoing, according to CPD.

Campus Safety included resources for students in their email alert including the Wellness Center’s phone number — 773.508.2530 — and a link to the Community Coalition on Gender-Based Violence’s website, which includes support for survivors, prevention tips and resources to report gender-based violence.

This is the second crime alert Campus Safety sent to students this week. On February 22, an attempted robbery at Loyola’s Water Tower Campus prompted the first Campus Safety email alert to students this semester.

Campus safety encouraged anyone with information on the incident to contact Campus Safety at 773.508.6039 or CPD at 911 or 312.744.8263.
