A woman was beaten and robbed Wednesday near Loyola’s Water Tower Campus, police said.

The 58-year-old woman was leaving the Chicago and State Red Line station at East Chicago Avenue and North State Street at about 10:53 p.m. when someone struck her in the back of the head with a gun, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Jessica Alvarez.
