Man Shot and Seriously Wounded in Rogers Park

A man was shot and seriously wounded in Rogers Park Thursday evening, police said.

The 33-year-old was shot around 8:25 p.m. in the 6700 block of North Bosworth Avenue — about a mile away from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus — according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Kellie Bartoli. Two male offenders approached the man on the sidewalk, Bartoli said. One pulled out a handgun and fired shots at the victim, hitting him in the chest, according to Bartoli.

The man was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in serious condition, Bartoli said.
