The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) announced Jan. 8 the postponement of the Loyola men’s basketball series Jan. 10-11 at Drake University due to positive COVID-19 tests within the Bulldogs’ personnel. The make-up dates will be announced at a later date and the Ramblers will instead travel to play Indiana State University Jan. 10-11, according to the press release.

The positive test results came from “Drake’s Tier I personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff,” the release said. The Bulldogs’ series at Missouri State University Jan. 17-18 has also been postponed.

Indiana State was initially slated to face off against Southern Illinois University Jan. 10-11, but this series was postponed due to positive COVID-19 test results in the Salukis’ program. SIU and Drake played against each other Jan. 3-4.

This is Loyola’s second consecutive MVC series rescheduled due to COVID-19, with the Jan. 3-4 series against Bradley University moved to Jan. 24-25 due to cases at Bradley. At the time of publication, the MVC has postponed six of its series due to COVID-19 since conference play began Dec. 27.

The Ramblers are scheduled to begin their series against Indiana State in Terre Haute, Indiana Jan. 10. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. CST and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
