Shots Fired Near Lake Shore Campus

Shots were fired near Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus (LSC) around 10:20 p.m. May 6, according to Loyola’s Campus Safety.

Students reported hearing gunfire on the block of 1000 W. Sheridan Rd., just steps away from LSC, Campus Safety said in a crime alert email sent to the Loyola community.

No one was shot and there wasn’t any property damage, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD). Shell casings were found in the street, Campus Safety said.

It’s unknown where the shots originated, according to CPD.

Campus Safety wrote it’s working with CPD on the investigation. Anyone with information on the incident should call Campus Safety at 773-508-SAFE or CPD at 911 or 312-744-8263.
