Loyola Student Robbed Near Lake Shore Campus

A Loyola student was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in front of Loyola Plaza, near the Loyola Red Line stop across the street from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus, at around 9:05 p.m. Aug. 15, according to an email sent out by Campus Safety.

The 23-year-old Loyola student had just gotten cash from an ATM machine, in the 6500 block of N. Sheridan Road, when a man blocked her path and asked if she had any money, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD). When the student denied having money, the man continued to block her path and demanded money.

After the student complied, the suspect fled the scene using the Red Line train, according to Campus Safety. No injuries were reported and no one is in custody.
