Man Shot And Killed About a Mile From Loyola

A man died from multiple gunshot wounds after he was shot just under a mile from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus Aug. 16, police said. 

Police found the man lying on the street around the 1300 block of West Farwell Avenue at approximately 9:03 p.m. The man was shot in the face, shoulder and torso, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

The victim was pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital, according to CPD.

A suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall white male, who was spotted running south on North Lakewood Avenue in black clothing after the incident, Maria Hadden, the 49th Ward Alderwoman, said in a video posted to Facebook. No one is in custody as of now, according to CPD. 

Area Three detectives are investigating, CPD said.
