5 Easy Loyola-Themed Halloween Costumes

We’ve all been there, Oct. 30, at a loss for what you should be for Halloween. To help, here are a few tips for five last-minute, Rambler-centric looks that will make you the coolest kid at the party.

1. Sister Jean

Though the LU wolf is technically the Loyola mascot we all know that queen Jean is the true symbol of our school. For this iconic costume what you need is a grey curly wig, a gold and red scarf, and a group of college kids to follow you around and harass you for photos.

2. A Cubs fan on the Red Line after a game

Anybody who has traveled on the Red Line should get this one. All you need is to wear a   bunch of Cubs gear and get offensively drunk. Also, for that extra dash of realism, do not under any circumstances wear your mask properly. (But please, wear a mask on public transit.)

3. A DePaul University Blue Demon

While DePaul is the rival of Loyola sometimes it is best to put aside our differences and show some respect for the Blue Demons. This costume is super simple, you only need two things: a DePaul T-shirt and a trash bag to put it in.

4. The Red Line

Everybody knows and loves the Red Line so this look is sure to be a hit. For this costume all you need to do is dress in red, show up to the party 20 minutes late and smell vaguely of cigarettes and urine.

5. The LU Wolf

Because of the Team Jacob to ‘Bler pipeline, it’s a no-brainer to go as the LU Wolf this Halloween.

For those not in the know, Bo Rambler was Loyola’s mascot from 1982-1990 and was simply a depiction of a homeless man.

It’s hard to know why Loyola ever thought it was a good idea to have a caricature of a homeless person as their mascot — the ‘80s were a weird time. So if you do really want to dress up as a mascot, the LU Wolf is definitely a safer bet.

For this costume, all you need is wolf ears and a Loyola jersey.
