Loyola announced changes to shuttle buses, 8- Ride services and COVID testing hours in light of Thanksgiving break, which begins Nov. 24.
Starting Nov. 24 COVID-19 surveillance testing at all campus locations will be closed. Loyola testing centers will reopen with normal testing hours Nov. 29. Though once break is over, testing hours will be reduced to weekdays only, according to a Wellness Center email.
The shuttle bus that transports students between the Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses will stop running Nov. 23, according to a Campus Transportation email. The shuttle bus will resume rides Nov. 29, though as Chicago grows colder the pickup location will move to the parking lot at Lake Shore Campus to protect students from the chilly weather.
Similarly, 8-Rides will stop serving students Nov. 23. Loyola announced 8-Rides will resume their regular hours on Nov. 28.
Damen Dining Hall will remain open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Nov. 23. On Nov. 24 students will have breakfast and lunch available until 4:30 p.m. All dining services will be closed starting the night of Nov. 24 until Sunday, Nov. 28, according to the website.
The Halas Recreation Center will be open until 2p.m. on Nov. 24, but will remain closed Nov. 25 and Nov. 26, according to the website. While it will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The rockwall will be closed throughout all of Thanksgiving break.
