Attempted Armed Robbery of Loyola Student Occurs on N. Glenwood Ave.

A Loyola student reported no injuries after an attempted armed robbery near  Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus, according to a crime alert sent out by Campus Safety. 

On Dec. 6 at approximately 7:40 p.m. an unknown male offender approached a Loyola student in an alley on the 6300 block of N. Glenwood Ave., less than half a mile from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus, according to Loyola spokesperson Anna Shymanski Zach. 

The offender, who displayed a handgun, demanded money from the student before fleeing the scene. The student was unharmed and the offender did not take any of their belongings, according to Campus Safety.

The Chicago Police Department (CPD) told The Phoenix it didn’t receive a report of the incident Dec. 6 despite Shymanski Zach saying CPD was investigating.
