Woman Shot In Residence Blocks From Campus

Zack Miller | The PhoenixOn Dec. 8 at approximately 3:00 p.m., a female victim, 61, was inside of a residence when she was struck by gunfire, according to the Chicago Police Department.

A woman was shot while in her residence about five blocks from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus Dec. 18 at approximately 3 p.m., according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

The victim, a 61-year-old woman, was struck in the arm and thigh, CPD news affairs officer Hector Alfaro wrote in an email to The Phoenix. She was transported to St. Francis Hospital and initially was reported to be in good condition, according to CPD.

There are no offenders in custody and area detectives are investigating, Alfaro said.
