Booster Shots Now Available at The Wellness Center

Loyola announced booster shots are now available to students through the Wellness Center in an email Jan. 19. 

Students, faculty and staff are required to get a booster shot as soon as they’re eligible Loyola announced on Dec. 15. Anyone is eligible for the booster if it’s been at least six months since receiving the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna or at least two months since receiving Johnson & Johnson, according to the CDC. 

To get boosted through the Wellness Center, students can schedule an appointment or call Dial-A-Nurse line at 773-508-8883. 

Appointments can be made at both Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses. 

Students should upload proof of their booster to Loyola Health through the app or the website, Loyola said in the email.

“We currently have 300 doses available and hope to continue receiving more in the coming weeks,” Wellness Center Director Joan Holden said in an email to The Phoenix. “Getting a booster of a COVID-19 vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others at this stage of the pandemic.”
