BREAKING: Child in Critical Condition After Shot in Head in Rogers Park

A 25-year-old man and 5-year-old boy were shot while driving on the 7600 block of N. Paulina St. in Rogers Park, approximately two miles from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus (LSC). At around 5 p.m., a black Hyundai drove alongside the victims’ vehicle and began firing, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

The first victim, 25, sustained a gunshot wound to the left hand and shoulder, while the second victim, 5, sustained a gunshot wound to the head, according to CPD.

The first victim, 25, was later transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he is said to be in good condition. The second victim, 5, was transported to St. Lurie’s Hospital where he is said to be in critical condition, according to CPD.

No suspects have been identified and no one has been taken into custody, according to CPD. Area Three Detectives are investigating the incident, according to CPD.
