The Palace announced she died “peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.” The King and the Queen consort, Charles Phillip Arthur George and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are staying in Balmoral this evening and will be back in London tomorrow.
Members of the royal family were at her side today after her health took a bad turn, according to the Associated Press (AP).
Under English law, her 73-year-old son will take the throne, though his coronation date is still unknown, the AP reported.
