At approximately 6:50 a.m. on Sept. 30, the body of Brett A. Papciak, 54, white male, was recovered from the water at Hartigan Beach, which is 120 feet North of Loyola’s Santa Clara Residence Hall.

At approximately 6:50 a.m. on Sept. 30, the body of Brett A. Paciak, 54, white male, was recovered from the water at Hartigan Beach, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).
He was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:12 a.m., but the cause and manner of his death are still unknown as of Oct. 4, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner Spokesperson.
Hartigan beach, where the body was found, is 120 feet north of Loyola’s Santa Clara Residence Hall on Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus.
Paciak was recovered from the water at 1000 block of W. Albion Avenue according to the Chicago Police Department press release.
Detectives are conducting a death investigation, and awaiting autopsy results, according to the CPD as of Oct. 3.
Authorities have cleared the scene and are no longer on site as of Friday afternoon.
