The women’s team also took to the track Friday in the same events. The Ramblers entered the 5K ranked 44th in the USTFCCA polls and were led by third-year Ali Gilooly who earned fifth and set a personal record along the way at 17:05.52. She was followed by first-year Madison Perez who rounded out the contest in 35th at 19:09.69.

In the Women’s Distance Medley, the team was comprised of second-year Jo Collins, fourth-year Grace Kuhn, redshirt fourth-year Alessandra Rodriguez and graduate Emma Watcke. The squad finished seventh overall with a 12:04.61 to wrap up Friday’s events.

Saturday kicked off with Lawrence back on the track and leading the pack once more as he captured his second title of the weekend in the men’s 3K, winning first at 8:03.53 to set a meet record and earn the Atlantic 10’s Most Outstanding Track Performer at the championships.

Behind him for Loyola in the 3K was second-year Nate Boutin who finished third clocking in at 8:05.64, Phillips was next to cross coming in eighth at 8:13.37 and Smit closed the event for the Ramblers in 11th at 8:21.74.

Smit also led Loyola in the mile where he finished just off the podium in fourth at 4:11.00. Bibile finished in 16th at 4:19.62, and right behind him was second-year Trent Anderson at 4:19.74.

Field finished the men’s contests in the 800m where he finished seventh at 1:53.96.

The Loyola men finished eighth overall on the weekend as they closed out their indoor track and field season.

The women competed Saturday in the mile where they were led by Watcke and Rodriguez who finished consecutively in second and third with times of 4:43.75 and 4:44.89. Rodriguez’s time earned her a personal record.

Second-year Priscilla Ravera was next to finish for the Ramblers placing in 19th at 5:13.86, first-year Charlotte Wilson followed in 28th with a time of 5:31.66.

The 3K was the last event on the weekend for Loyola where they were led by fourth-year Roisin Treacy who placed second with her time of 9:45.60. Fourth-year Aiden Grasse finished next for Loyola in 15th with a time of 10:07.61. Rounding out the top 20 was Kuhn with her time of 10:10.58. Ending the contest for the Ramblers was fourth-year Alex Morris in 22nd at 10:11.47.

The Loyola women ended the weekend finishing 13th overall in the A10 women’s team rankings.

Despite strong performances from the Ramblers in the A10 championships, no Rambler qualified for the NCAA championships. Now the team will turn their focus to the upcoming outdoor track season which kicks off at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, MO March 27 and 28 and at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University March 27-29.
