Ashlar, the university’s therapy dog, graduated with his dog-torate in belly rubs and a minor in campus cuddles, according to his Instagram account.

In celebration of his graduation, the university hosted a party, which was attended by students and faculty and featured his own dog-sized graduation cap and Ashlar-themed snacks.

Ashlar’s favorite activities during his time at Loyola included chasing squirrels, helping with stress relief for students and “being the goodest boy,” according to the post.

Ashlar began working at Loyola at the age of two in 2018, and will maintain his license after leaving the university to continue to provide support to his community, The Phoenix reported. A new therapy dog will take his place in the fall semester.
