Blue Skies Ahead: Ghostly Comedy, Boo! At the Park and Fall Jam 

Fall is upon us, so get ready for a list of spooktacular events designed to help you take full advantage of the Halloween season. 

Spend some time outdoors as the temperature starts to drop at Boo! At the Park, or check out a showing of Hotel Transylvania at the “Haunted” Drive-In. 

Ghostly & Ghastly Tales Sketch Comedy Performance: Oct. 26

Check out this Halloween-themed sketch comedy show by the PlayMakers Laboratory Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Auditorium located on 2045 N. Lincoln Park West. 

The sketches, performed by a professional ensemble, will tell the spooky — and silly — stories written by families at the Lincoln Park Cultural Center. The event is hosted by the Chicago Park District.

Boo! At the Park: Oct. 27

Located at Andersonville’s Park 559 at 6151 N. Sheridan Rd., the West Edgewater Area Residents Association is hosting a family-friendly Halloween event. The fall fun will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Attendees can enjoy pumpkin decorating, games and prizes, Halloween treats and crafts. If guests arrive in costume, they’ll be entered in two raffles for tickets to the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Brookfield Zoo. 

“Haunted” Drive-In: Hotel Transylvania: Oct. 27 

Head over to Logan Square to watch a special drive-in viewing of Hotel Transylvania in the brisk fall air at 3030 W. Fullerton Ave. Costumes are encouraged, and snacks will be provided. The showing will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.. 

The event will include kids-sized cardboard cars, but attendees may also bring their own cars and enjoy the Halloween show from there. 

48th Ward Fall Jam: Oct. 29

This family friendly festival will be held Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Broadway Armory located at 5917 N. Broadway. Hosted by Ald. Leni- Manaa-Hoppenworth (48th), the event will feature DJ Hot Rod, food trucks and activities for teens and families.
