The Chicago Police Department was alerted of a body in the water of Lake Michigan on the 1000 block of West Pratt Boulevard at approximately 5:30 a.m. June 20.

The Chicago Police Department was alerted of a body in the water of Lake Michigan on the 1000 block of West Pratt Boulevard at approximately 5:30 a.m. June 20.
The body was found on Columbia Beach in Rogers Park, CPD wrote in an email statement to The Phoenix. Columbia Beach is approximately a block north of Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus.
Police described the body as a 60 to 65 year old man. No further identifications are currently available.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CPD. They are awaiting autopsy results as they continue to investigate the cause of death.
Loyola Campus Safety could not immediately be reached for comment.
