The Super Bowl halftime show annually garners nearly as many viewers as the culminating game itself, as many people around the globe watch the event just for the musical performance. The Super Bowl is undeniably a spectacle. As Lamar is an artist already cemented in history with a legion of fans, his performance will draw huge viewership.
With Lamar’s complex mix of fame and infamy comes power. He’s steadily become one of the most respected rap artists of his generation, known for his flow and top-notch lyricism. Reverence for his talent has won him plenty of awards, including a Pulitzer Prize in music in 2018, and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, amongst others.
